### How It Works

Polyfax Skin Ointment contains two antibacterial agents, **Polymyxin B Sulphate** and **Bacitracin Zinc**, which work together to help prevent and control bacterial infections on the skin. These ingredients act by inhibiting the growth of susceptible bacteria, helping to protect damaged skin and support the natural healing process.

## Usage & Safety

### Dosage

**Adults & Children:** Apply a thin layer to the affected area two or more times daily, or as directed by your physician.

### Side Effects

Possible side effects may include:

* Sensitization or allergic skin reactions
* Nephrotoxicity (rare, particularly with excessive absorption)

### Drug Interactions

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are currently taking, or have recently taken, any medications, including over-the-counter medicines and herbal products.

### Indication

Indicated for the prevention of bacterial skin infections associated with:

* Minor burns
* Skin graft procedures
* Surgical wounds
* Minor cuts, scratches, and abrasions

### When Not to Use

Do not use this product if you are allergic to **Polymyxin B Sulphate**, **Bacitracin Zinc**, related antibiotics, or any other ingredient in the formulation. Signs of an allergic reaction may include rash, itching, swelling of the face or throat, or difficulty breathing.

### Precautions

Excessive absorption through large areas of damaged skin may increase the risk of nerve or kidney-related side effects. If extensive areas require treatment, your physician may monitor kidney function during therapy.

### Warning

Prolonged or repeated use may encourage the growth of microorganisms that are not affected by this ointment, including fungi, which may lead to secondary infections.

Consult your doctor before use in children requiring treatment over large skin areas.

Patients with kidney disorders should use this product with caution and seek medical advice before treatment.
