How it works
Vildagliptin works by inhibiting DPP-4 activity, which increases the levels of incretin hormones (GLP-1 and GIP). Indication

When not to use
Do not use in patients with hypersensitivity to vildagliptin or metformin, or in cases of diabetic ketoacidosis or diabetic pre-coma.

Monitor for skin problems like blistering or ulcers. There is a risk of acute pancreatitis; discontinue use if suspected and do not restart if confirmed.
