🎯 Uses / Indications:

• Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) — treats symptoms of an enlarged prostate
• Helps relieve urinary symptoms such as:
  • Difficulty in starting urination
  • Weak urine stream
  • Frequent urination (especially at night)
  • Urgency and incomplete bladder emptying
• Sometimes used to help pass kidney stones (ureteral stones)

⚙️ Mechanism of Action:

Tamsulosin relaxes the smooth muscles of the prostate and bladder neck, making it easier to urinate and improving urine flow.

💡 Dosage (General):

• 1 capsule (0.4 mg) once daily, taken about 30 minutes after the same meal each day
• Swallow whole — do not crush, chew, or open the capsule

⚠️ Common Side Effects:

• Dizziness or lightheadedness
• Headache
• Runny/stuffy nose
• Weakness or fatigue
• Abnormal ejaculation
• Low blood pressure (especially on standing)

🚫 Precautions:

• Avoid in patients with severe liver impairment
• Caution in patients with low blood pressure
• May cause dizziness — avoid driving until you know how it affects you
• Inform your doctor if undergoing cataract surgery
