How It Works

Used For
Cardura® (Doxazosin Mesylate) is a prescription medicine primarily used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men. It helps improve blood flow by relaxing the smooth muscles of blood vessels and the prostate.
How It Works
Doxazosin works by selectively blocking alpha-1 adrenergic receptors. This relaxes the muscles in the walls of blood vessels, allowing them to widen and reducing blood pressure. In men with BPH, it also relaxes the muscles around the prostate and bladder outlet, helping improve urine flow and reduce urinary symptoms.
Usage & Safety
Dosage:
Take Cardura exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The dose may be adjusted gradually depending on the condition being treated and the patient's response. It can generally be taken with or without food.
